Corendon Amsterdam New-West

11

Kicking off this list is the Corendon Amsterdam New-West, a vibrant, value-for-money hotel near the city center. Everything about this hotel is likable, even if you’re here for work. Its central location allowed us to navigate the city easily, and we also found plenty of amenities that could benefit business travelers.

The hotel has two event spaces to ensure productive meetings. The first one is Mondi Banqueting, which can hold up to 30 people at max. With floor-to-ceiling windows and beautiful decor, this is the perfect spot for casual meetings and conferences. The hotel even provides delectable snacks and drinks. For smaller, more formal meetings, there’s the 737 Cockpit Meeting Room.

If you decide to stay at this hotel, make sure to destress at the Vitality Spa. Open 7 days a week, it’s the perfect place to relax both your body and mind. We took the 50-minute anti-stress massage and continued our session with a dip in the pool. There’s even Ladies Afternoon, where the spa becomes women-only during certain hours.

Novotel Amsterdam City

10

Offering easy access to the city center, Novotel Amsterdam City is one of the most well-located hotels in the city. Travelers can access the hotel easily by either a car or public transport. While we were there, we could easily walk to the RAI metro station. It took us only about 8 minutes. An extra 3-minute walk would take us to the conventions at RAI Amsterdam.

Novotel sure doesn’t hold anything back for business travelers. The hotel proudly boasts 20 spacious meeting rooms, each with high ceilings so you can concentrate more thanks to the abundance of natural daylight. You should expect nothing less from the hotel. It has everything covered, from free Wi-Fi to audiovisual equipment. Some rooms can even be combined to hold up to 170 people.

What about the rest of the hotel? We loved the lobby lounge! There, you’ll find cocktails, sushi, and tapas. What more could you ask for? We also loved working out at the well-equipped gym and sweating it out in the sauna. Exploring the neighborhood is easy as well since the hotel offers rental bikes.

Hotel de Hallen

9

What once used to be a tram depot is now a charming, modern hotel called Hotel de Hallen. One of the things we loved the most about this hotel was its location. Situated in the Oud-West district, countless restaurants are sprinkled around the hotel. We truly never ran out of options when it came to food. This can be a huge plus too if you want to feast with your colleagues after your meeting.

Speaking of which, the Hotel de Hallen has two meeting spaces on the property. The first one is the Glass Cabin. Living up to its name, this boardroom is all glass, making it a unique place to hold your meeting. It can accommodate up to 17 people and has all the essential equipment, including unlimited coffee! There’s also the Red Room, which is suitable for smaller meetings and brainstorming sessions. Set next to the bar, you can have a drink or two whenever you want.

For our stay, we decided to spend our nights in the luxurious Junior Suite. We were glad we made that choice. Every morning, we were able to wake up to the view of Bellamyplein. The king-sized bed was so comfy, and we also loved having a bathtub. Other amenities include a desk, a minibar, and a coffee maker.

Hotel Estheréa

8

Most Beautiful. When it comes to aesthetics, Hotel Estheréa takes the cake. Housed in buildings dating back to the 17th century and set along the Singel Canal, this hotel took our breath away. When we first stepped into the lobby, we were instantly in awe. Think sparkling crystal chandeliers, plush sofas, vibrant flower decorations, and wooden accents. It’s hands-down one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever seen. Oh, if you’re lucky, you’ll meet the hotel’s adorable cat in the lobby, too!

The same goes for the three on-site meeting rooms. These stylish rooms can host meetings for up to 18 people. The smallest room is the Library, which is suitable for 6 people at max. But for bigger discussions, you can consider The Herenkamer. With three huge windows and a bigger space, it’s a great choice for a group of 16. And for a slightly bigger space for 18, there’s The Suite van Oranje. The best part about this room is none other than the views of the Spuistraat.

Meetings can often be stressful. To help you relax, the hotel offers complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge. We loved taking a sip, not only because it was free, but because we were also able to enjoy our drink along with the view of the canal. If you have the time, don’t hesitate to work up a sweat in the gym and socialize at the bar.

Apollofirst Boutique Hotel

7

The Apollofirst Boutique Hotel is all about elegance. Set in three historic redbrick houses, this 4-star boutique hotel is only minutes away from the heart of the city. This allowed us to explore the best the city has to offer without breaking a sweat. On top of that, the Zuidas district and the RAI Congress Center are also nearby. This makes it a great choice for business travelers.

Unlike some business stays in Amsterdam, Apollofirst doesn’t feature multiple meeting rooms. It only boasts one, which is the Board Room. During our visit, we made a quick stop at the Board Room and were impressed with its sheer size. It was big, bright, and equipped with everything one could need for a meeting. The hotel’s event team can also help you organize private dinners and other informal events.

As a boutique hotel, there are only 40 rooms on the property. However, based on our observation, each of them is well-equipped. We got the Executive Room and it was cozier than we expected. We had a work desk, two cloud-like beds, a seating area, as well as a spotless bathroom with tons of light. But don’t spend the entire day in your room as you should also explore the hotel’s private theater, library bar, and garden.

Park Plaza Vondelpark Amsterdam

6

Best Location. Say hello to the Park Plaza Vondelpark Amsterdam, one of our favorite Amsterdam business stays. Set in Oud-Zuid, this hotel is surrounded by fancy shops, bars, and eateries. This means you can spoil and pamper yourself after hours of brainstorming sessions. We enjoyed our stay a lot as we were able to visit some of the city’s hotspots with ease, including Museum Square.

For business travelers, the two on-site meeting spaces will make a standard stay into an extremely productive one. While the indoor meeting rooms are cozy and airy, it’s the private garden that deserves special attention. It was our favorite spot to relax, but it can also be the best place to search for new ideas.

Apart from the beautiful garden, the hotel is also home to the award-winning TOZI. It serves authentic Italian cuisine, and we were glad we had the chance to dine there. We really enjoyed the Roasted turbot fillet, and there was a wide selection of wine, too. And to feel less sinful for eating so much, we made sure to always make time to work out at the on-site gym.

Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel

5

The Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel is another option you should highly consider. Being a riverside hotel, this hotel boasts some of the most amazing views we’ve witnessed on our trip. However, it wasn’t just its location that we loved, but also its business facilities.

This hotel boasts 14 meeting rooms, all flooded with natural light. What we appreciated about them was their layout. The meeting rooms are all on the first floor and close to each other, so you won’t spend much time going from one room to another. Best of all, you can book the entire event floor and host a conference or any event for up to 350 people.

Mercure’s amenities are just as cool as its business facilities. If you want to squeeze some workout sessions between your meetings, you should visit the gym and spend a good minute at the sauna. We also loved taking advantage of the bike rental to explore the nearby attractions like the Zuidas business district.

Met Hotel Amsterdam

4

Best for Small Meetings. The Met Hotel Amsterdam is a luxury hotel in the city that checked everything on our list. First, let’s talk about the location. Being only 10 minutes away from the historic city center, we always had something to do. We especially loved visiting the Spoorpark and the Vondelpark.

The meeting spaces here are just as great as the location, especially if you’re planning to hold small meetings. The Boardroom is your go-to place if you want to host a meeting. We were instantly in love when we first saw the room. It looked stylish, along with a huge conference table and chairs. But if you want somewhere more fun to help you stimulate your brain, you should check out the Brainstorm Basement. It comes with modern amenities to support your meeting, as well as a billiard!

“The Brainstorm Basement is certainly the heart of the hotel. The fact that Met could think of making such a fun workspace is truly admirable.”

WOW Travel

Productive travelers deserve exquisite dining, and Met Restaurant is the place to be. After your meeting, dine at this on-site restaurant, which is highly popular among both locals and travelers alike. We ordered the veal cheeks and it was to die for. A+ for the texture and flavor. Don’t forget to have a drink at the lively bar, too.

Ambassade Hotel

3

Best for Casual Meetings. Not every meeting has to be super rigid or formal. If that’s the case for you, we’re sure you’ll adore the Ambassade Hotel. Thanks to its lovely decor and modern amenities, this upscale boutique hotel is easily one of the best business stays in Amsterdam.

Unlike other hotels, the meeting rooms here are intentionally designed for more casual meetings. Our favorite was the CoBrA Lounge, which could accommodate up to 4 people. When we entered the room, we were in awe of the cozy atmosphere and the amount of art being hung on the wall. What’s more, renting a meeting room means you’ll also get beverages and light bites for free. What a deal!

Another highlight of this hotel is its library. It was one of our favorite spots during our stay when we wanted to have some me time. It’s also a great place if you’re looking for some fresh ideas or inspirations for your project. And for the best experience, we highly recommend booking the split-level suite.

Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam

2

What we have here is Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam. Let us start by addressing the elephant in the room: its somewhat peculiar name. This sustainable hotel is set where ships used to leave for Jakarta, hence the name. Speaking of the location, we also loved how it’s set along the IJ River. We were able to take in the beautiful river view whenever we wanted. Such a perk!

The hotel’s fondness for Indonesia is huge, and it’s evident in the names of its meeting rooms. There are three in total, which are named Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya – three of the most popular cities in Indonesia. The biggest one is Bandung, and it can accommodate up to 60 people. Best of all, if you’re holding a huge conference, you can merge all three meeting rooms into one. With a theater configuration, it can host up to 200 people.

Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam isn’t just about work. It also features a bar with beautiful views of the river, which, obviously, was our favorite spot on the property. When we had the time, we would also take a dip in the indoor pool and have a massage at the spa. Also, don’t forget to visit the on-site Westers Bakery. It’s the perfect place to have breakfast.

NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace

1

Best Overall. The NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace has countless reasons why it deserves to be “the” top business hotel. The first one is its 15th-century Olof’s, which is arguably the heart of the hotel. This spacious chapel is so big that it can easily host meetings for up to 520 guests. When we were at the hotel, we decided to check this space out and were amazed. We could picture luxurious dinners and events being held there.

Aside from Olof’s, the hotel also boasts 12 smaller yet equally fantastic meeting rooms. They’re highly versatile and you can use them for various purposes, including family parties! You don’t have to worry about a thing, as “thoughtful” is the hotel’s last name. Whatever you need, whether it be audio setup to lunch menus, the team will always be there to help you out.

Speaking of food, make sure to dine at the on-site Vermeer at least once! We really loved the Entrecôte. Aside from that, you can also work out at the in-house gym after a meeting or have a drink with your co-worker at the bar. Or, if you have some spare time, visit the Van Gogh Museum, which is only minutes away by car.
