11 Best Business Hotels in Washington DC

The city of power suits, power walkers, and power trips — we’re talking, of course, about Washington, DC, the capital of the United States. The city buzzes with energy, even more so around an election. Naturally, it’s also one of the most important business hubs in the country, where more work gets done over a round of golf and drinks at slick restaurants than anywhere else. Even then, there’s a growing need for working professionals to gather and brainstorm in this city, which is why we have a plethora of business hotels in Washington, DC.  Whether you’re on a corporate retreat, looking to mix business and pleasure, or visiting to witness history unfold, finding a good hotel for your group is necessary. Here’s a useful guide to the best business stays in D.C., where the echelons of power are always on the move.

The Westin DC Downtown

11

We begin with The Westin DC Downtown which, as the name suggests, sits right in the very heart of Downtown Washington DC. So, we were within walking distance of all major places of business, as well as the National Mall, Capitol Hill, and Dupont Circle.

There’s a lot more to this hotel besides the location. For one, the hotel’s business concierges and team was all about personalized service, helping us put together our corporate event. What’s more, they boasted 77,872 sq. ft (7,234.5 sq. m) of event space across 36 event rooms and 25 breakout rooms, with the largest space having a capacity of 2,500 people! In fact, they even have an Event Planning page where you can begin putting in details of your event before getting in touch with them. What’s more, all rooms had large windows with amazing foyer views and didn’t feel closed off, making them great not just for boardroom meetings but also social ones.

The rest of the hotel is no less amazing, with amenities like a fitness center, two restaurants, free Wi-Fi, and a great breakfast.

The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C.

10

Best for freelancing professionals. Usually, we don’t associate the words ‘work’ and ‘luxury’ together, but The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. is another story. We were in DC for meeting with some of our clients, and we decided to stay at the Ritz to enjoy a work-cation, and what a work-cation it was! Firstly, we were impressed with the Ritz’s event space of more than 22,000 sq. ft. (2,044 sq. m). Not only do all of its meeting rooms feature AV capabilities and state-of-the-art technology, but also it houses one of the city’s largest luxury ballrooms measuring a whopping 10,586 sq. ft. (983.5 sq. m).

However, since our work required us to work out of our rooms, we were focused on our stay, and boy, were we impressed. The updated rooms and suites felt like peaceful retreats, with sleek blue-and-gray color palettes. What’s more, they were very spacious, complete with dedicated sitting areas, lots of USB ports, and even desks, which were very useful for us. With two restaurants, a fitness cneter, a spa and wellness center, and a complimentary breakfast to begin the day, we had a fantastic work-cation at the Ritz.

The Dupont Circle Hotel

9

Located in the heart of DC’s downtown business district, the newly renovated Dupont Circle Hotel was within walking distance to downtown businesses and embassies. What’s more, it was also close to all of DC’s top attractions, thanks to its Dupont Circle location. The Doyle Collection, which is famed for its Irish and British boutique stays, brings a dash of Europe with its D.C. flagship, which was very different from other regular business stays in the city. In fact, it was quite full of business travelers like us, thanks to its location.

Another reason were its amenities related to meetings and events, which exuded timeless style and were bathed in warm and chic luxury. The hotel had 10,000 sq. ft. of flexible event space, with no fewer than 6 dedicated spaces. Not only were they all bathed in natural light, but they also boasted gorgeous garden views. What was interesting was that all spaces were on the ground floor and a culinary team would take care of everything. Did we mention that we could even customize our event with their seasonal promotions? Yes!

Since our corporate event was on a very small scale, the hotel and its business amenities suited us perfectly. It featured 432 sq. ft. (40 sq. m) in the form of a boardroom, a theater, a reception, a banquet hall, a classroom, 2 U and H-shaped rooms, and a conference room. Kimpton Banneker Hotel

3

We were in DC for work and were looking for stylish digs rather than your regular cookie-cutter business stays. Enter the Kimpton Banneker Hotel, a swish 4-star hotel that was anything but a business hotel, but rather beautifully balanced elegance, minimalism, and warmth with efficiency. Its location was a winner; we were right down the street from Dupont Circle, which meant that we were smack dab in the middle of all the power play that the city is known for.

We loved the availability and choices of both indoor and outdoor spaces that made for the perfect ideal backdrop for our laidback-cum-buttoned-up retreat, which included everything from cool cocktail receptions to board meetings. This had 3,800 sq. ft (353 sq. m) of flexible event space, going beyond boring and beige usually associated with business hotels. One of their best spaces is the open-air Lady Bird The Roof Top with one-of-a-kind views from the collapsible floor-to-ceiling glass walls. meanwhile, the indoor event venues had the choice of many setups and stunning art collections. We especially loved their Amped-up Agenda, where they help you craft a non-run-of-the-mill corporate event.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC

1

Most luxurious. The Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC allowed us to combine work and play in the best way possible. In the heart of the upscale Foggy Bottom in Georgetown, just five minutes southwest of Dupont Circle, this luxurious Four Seasons outpost has ruled the roost for more than a quarter century. In fact, it was the very first property from the brand to open in the country and is one of . Not surprisingly, this now contemporary grande dame has welcomed every possible VIP, visiting A-lister, and dignitary who passed through the nation’s capital. To be honest, having “breakfast in Georgetown” translates to “noshing at the Four Seasons” for most power players; think lemon ricotta pancakes with fresh berries and egg white frittatas.

The business facilities here make you feel like you’re working on something absolutely important in the most luxurious of manners, with state-of-the-art technology meeting elegance. In fact, it has one of the largest event spaces we’ve ever seen, a whopping 22,925 sq. ft. (2,130 sq. m) across 3 levels. The conference level has 13 rooms ranging from 192 sq. ft to 4,602 sq. ft. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the historic, tree-lined C&O Canal, the well-lit space was perfect for pre-conference cocktails with our special guests.
