Fairmont Jakarta
11
Kicking off this list is Fairmont Jakarta. Being right in the heart of Jakarta, we were only a two-minute walk away from the Senayan Golf Course. It was such a treat for us! On top of that, the fact that the Plaza Senayan Mall was just a quick three-minute stroll away via an underground tunnel was a huge plus.
All of the rooms at this hotel are divine, but we ended up choosing the Fairmont Gold King Room. We particularly loved the Japanese spa-inspired bathroom. Not only that, we were spoilt by the New York Le Labo bath products, too. If you book the suite, you can also enjoy the exclusive Club Lounge access, daily drinks, and even butler service.
For us, one of the highlights of our stay was the incredible variety of dining options. The Fairmont truly caters to every taste. We were blown away by the sheer diversity – from the decadent Sunday brunches and the shopaholic afternoon tea to the exciting lobster night. We also appreciated the halal Indonesian restaurant and the sophisticated steak bar.

Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni
10
Among all the 4 star hotels in Jakarta, the Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni is one of the best. This hotel is a striking high-rise, easily recognizable, and its location proved quite useful. We were just a few minutes away from the National Monument, a must-see, and while the Jakarta Convention Center was a bit further at 9 km, it was still manageable.
After contemplating for a while, we decided to get the Superior Double Room. It was bright, warm, and cozy. We had all the standard amenities we needed, along with a minibar as well as coffee-making facilities. If you want something more special, consider booking the Penthouse Suite. The views from this suite are to die for.
The hotel also offers a range of amenities. When you’re not sightseeing, feel free to have a body massage at the spa or work up a sweat at the gym. The fact that the hotel offers a professional trainer service is also a bonus. Meanwhile, dining options are plentiful. However, we loved dining at the Sky Lounge the most. The city views from up there were incredible.

Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta

There are so many reasons why we had a blast staying at the Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. Being situated on a major thoroughfare was a huge plus, significantly reducing our travel time. We found it incredibly easy to get around, with just a quick 10-minute drive to the SCBD area and only 15 minutes to the bustling Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall. If you’re looking for 5 star hotels in Jakarta city center, this is the one.
Our room, though, was a haven of luxury. Serviced twice daily, it was always immaculate. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the Illy coffee machine for our morning caffeine fix and the Bose sound bar for winding down in the evenings. If you want something more luxurious, opt for the Club level room, which gives you access to the private lounge.
Our dining experiences were also top-notch. We enjoyed a glamorous afternoon in the Palm Court, sinking into plush green velvet chairs beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers while sipping champagne. We also ventured up to the Italian restaurant on the 20th floor, where the food was superb and the views were breathtaking.

Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta

Best Amenities. Our stay at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta was iconic, just like the hotel itself. We’d heard so much about this legendary landmark, and we were eager to experience it firsthand. Its location is incredibly convenient; being just an 11-minute walk from Sudirman train station made getting around Jakarta a breeze for us.
Of course, we had to inquire about the famed “Presidential Suite.” Let’s just say, it’s not for the faint of heart (or wallet!). The price tag is eye-watering, but the sheer opulence is undeniable. Imagine having your own sauna, massage room, home theater, and private sports room! And the views? Absolutely spectacular.
While the Presidential Suite might be a dream for most of us, the hotel offers plenty of other ways to pamper yourself. We did manage to indulge in a relaxing body massage at The Spa. The rooftop setting was a highlight, adding an extra layer of tranquility to the experience. The fitness center was also well-equipped, though we opted for relaxation over rigorous workouts during this particular stay. Best of all, the hotel has BMW car and helicopter rental services. Talk about traveling in style!

The St. Regis Jakarta

When it comes to luxury, The St. Regis Jakarta is certainly familiar with it. Nestled in the heart of Jakarta’s Golden Triangle, the hotel, while not the tallest skyscraper, exudes a quiet confidence. It’s clear they’ve focused on the finer details, and that’s what truly sets it apart.
One of the things that impressed us the most was our Grand Deluxe King Room. The sleek, white aesthetic offered a modern take on Indonesian traditions, which we found both stylish and comforting. Our room had everything we needed, from fast Wi-Fi and a large TV to a private balcony where we could enjoy the city views.
During your spare time, make sure to experience the afternoon tea in The Drawing Room. The elegant setting, coupled with the live pianist’s soothing melodies, provides a welcome escape from the bustling city. Don’t forget to visit the pool area, too. Take a dip or lounge by the pool, enjoying the plush loungers and canopied daybeds.

Pan Pacific Jakarta

What we have here is the Pan Pacific Jakarta. The hotel’s location within the prestigious Thamrin Nine complex offered us a welcome escape from the city’s vibrant energy, providing a tranquil and serene atmosphere high above the bustling streets. Of course, this hotel has more to offer besides a convenient location.
We highly recommend booking one of the Premier Suites. Ours was nearly 700 sq ft of pure luxury. The corner suite layout provided ample space with a separate living area and even a convenient powder room. The bathroom was a true highlight, boasting wrap-around views, a deep-soak tub, a walk-in rain shower, and luxurious Jo Loves amenities. We also had access to the Pacific Club Lounge!
Now, let’s talk about the dining experience. We ventured up to the 90th floor and were blown away by both Keyaki and Eden. Keyaki served up some of the most authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine we’ve had in Jakarta. Later, we enjoyed bespoke cocktails at Eden, a stunning botanical-inspired “sky garden.” The panoramic city views from both venues were simply breathtaking.

Raffles Jakarta

Best for Families. The Raffles Jakarta is all about elegance. Located in the Kuningan area, it’s perfectly situated for exploring Jakarta. However, it was the hotel’s unique connection to art that impressed us the most. Being directly linked to the Ciputra Artpreneur Center, with its gallery, museum, and theatre, added a fascinating dimension to our stay. It was wonderful to have such a rich cultural experience right at our fingertips.
Our King Suite, like the other 173 bedrooms in the hotel, was beautifully designed. We loved the distinct touches inspired by the famous Jakartan painter, Hendra Gunawan. It gave the space a unique and sophisticated feel. Since we opted for a suite, we also had access to the Raffles Club, which was an absolute treat. We were pampered with delicious breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres.
The service at the Raffles Jakarta was also impeccable. Having butler service made our stay incredibly smooth and convenient. During our spare time, we would take a refreshing dip in the palm-flanked outdoor pool, and it was great to have a dedicated kids’ club to keep the little ones entertained. Apart from that, we also found an outdoor jogging track as well as a gym. And if you do stay here, make sure to check out the award-winning Raffles Spa!

Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta

If budget isn’t a consideration, you should definitely stay at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. The hotel’s location is truly prime; overlooking the iconic Selamat Datang Monument and fountain, it felt like we were right in the heart of it all. We also appreciated the short walk to Plataran Menteng – what a treat to experience authentic Indonesian cuisine in such a beautiful setting.
Furthermore, our room felt so tranquil. The jewel-toned accents created a serene atmosphere, a welcome escape from Jakarta’s hustle and bustle. Our room had a separate living area where we could relax with a glass of wine. The little touches, like the tea and instant coffee, were much appreciated. And the bathroom! The deep soaking tub, surrounded by gleaming marble, was pure luxury. The fresh flowers and the scent of lilies were the cherry on top.
What truly sets the Mandarin Oriental apart, though, is its staff. Every single person we encountered, from the housekeeping staff to the general manager, exuded genuine warmth and a willingness to help. Their smiles were infectious. The hotel’s facilities were equally impressive. We loved the fifth-floor outdoor pool, and the pool bar was the perfect spot for a refreshing drink. We also made use of the sleek gym and admired the antique maps in the quaint gallery.

The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place

Best Mall Access. Everything about our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place was exceptional, and it all started with the unbeatable location. We were right in the thick of Jakarta’s bustling commercial heart, which made getting around incredibly easy. While we did venture out to the trendy restaurants and bars of Senopati – just a short taxi ride away – we also loved the fact that the sprawling Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex was within walking distance.
Here, even the entry-level rooms are spacious. They’re over 700 sq ft! Ours felt more like a suite than a standard room, especially compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Jakarta. The bathroom was equally impressive, with double vanities (a must for us!), a luxurious soaking tub positioned perfectly by the window, and a high-tech Japanese toilet.
While the hotel boasts impressive amenities like a sauna, library, and outdoor pool, it was the direct access to the Pacific Place Mall that blew us away. Having so many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores right at our fingertips was incredibly convenient.
“We initially thought the world-class amenities were our favorite part of this hotel, but the mall access truly made our experience flawless.”

Hotel Mulia Senayan Jakarta

Most Popular. Hotel Mulia Senayan Jakarta has long held its reputation for being one of the best 5 star Jakarta Indonesia hotels. The location is simply unbeatable; the proximity to Plaza Senayan and Senayan City made shopping and dining incredibly convenient, and the view of the illuminated Gelora Bung Karno at night was truly magical. Even though we didn’t partake in a round, the fact that it’s just a short drive from the Senayan Golf Course is a definite plus for golf enthusiasts.
We were lucky enough to be able to get The Duke Suite. 595 square meters of pure luxury, a 24-carat gold-plated bathroom designed by Sherle Wagner – it’s clear that no expense was spared. This alone is enough to tell you the hotel’s commitment to high-end experiences. Even the other room rates, while still on the higher side, reflect the overall premium feel of the Mulia.
The sheer variety of dining options is also worth noting. Nine different choices! From upscale Chinese and Japanese to Italian, not to mention the lounge, the ritzy cocktail bar, and even a refined chocolate shop – you could easily spend your entire stay just exploring the culinary offerings. Beyond dining, the hotel boasts a fantastic array of amenities. We made sure to take advantage of the spa, the outdoor pool, the hot tub, as well as the fitness room.

Best Suite. As one of the best 5 star hotels in Jakarta, The Langham sure knows how to make a statement. Let’s start with its location. The hotel is in the Sudirman Central Business District, and this was perfect for us. We were right in the heart of Jakarta’s financial center, with easy access to high-end shopping and entertainment.
The Langham’s world-class amenities also made our stay from great to unforgettable. One of the highlights of our stay was the sky-high relaxation. The 63rd-floor hot tub and heated indoor pool offered an unparalleled experience. Psst! It’s the highest in the city! We also enjoyed a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool on the sixth floor, which provided a beautiful space to enjoy the Indonesian sunshine. We were incredibly impressed with the Chuan Spa, too. The personalized approach, based on the five elements of Chinese medicine, was a unique and insightful experience.
Furthermore, we spent our nights in the Executive Cityscape King Room, and we were thrilled with our pick. The floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the room with natural light, offering stunning views of the city. We dare say that it’s the best suite in the city! We also loved the high ceilings and the spacious layout.
